about

“The aerial (or ariel) nature of sound […] always implies some degree of insubstantiality and uncertainty, some potential of illusion or deception, some ambiguity of absence or presence […]. Through sound, the boundaries of the physical world are questioned, even threatened or undone by instability.”
— David Toop “Sinister Resonance: The Mediumship of the Listener” (2010)

"The Nature of Sound" is a collection of final works for the subject of Sound Art: Theory and Practice as taught by Yiorgis Sakellariou.

Responding to David Toop's thoughts about the nature of sound, New Media Art students at Vytautas Magnus University compiled an album filled with soundscapes, aural stories and openings to internal reflections and external energies.
