"Nature in a City Household" is Ugnė Narkevičiūtė's attempt to step into the world of sound and step away from her safe place - visual stimulation. The piece aimed to examine a variety of household sounds and equate them to sounds heard in nature. It is possible to create the illusion of natural sounds in movies, to trick viewers into thinking they hear the sound of pouring rain, or believing the silent wind in a video game is real. We hear these sounds in our everyday lives, and this piece seeks to make us listen closely to our usual routine and recognize that those sounds are not any different.
